Kate is a Western Australia based multimedia and subject artist, she draws on her African origins to explore identity, place and memory through diverse materials and forms. Her practice moves fluidly between mediums, allowing each idea to find its most authentic expression. Influenced by birds, landscape, people and cultural contrasts between Africa and Australia, her work reflects layered narratives of migration, belonging and personal history. Experimentation is a friend of hers and she loves interesting perspectives and the exploration of light. Creating reflection, connection and awareness of how stories travel across continents.
