Komarnyckyj, Anastasija

As an artist practicing and living in the South West Region of Western Australia I am fortunate to have access to areas of diverse natural landscape.

In representing the natural environment my intention is to capturing the essence of place. This comes about through working with emotional recall, revisiting my own evocative photographic images of the site and embracing the feelings, which arise from recollection of the experience.

My use of collage is generally applied to a work where there is a sense of time being overlaid by time: a palimpsest of histories, of damage and repair and regeneration.
