As a painter I find inspiration all around me. My work varies from representational to semi abstract, and I am continuously moving along the continuum between the two. I tend to work in series, in the exploration of a particular landscape or region of Australia. I use large brushes and bold loose brush strokes in vibrant colours. I like to push myself and see what is possible with colour and with the brush strokes I use. Painting in an impressionistic style keeps me curious to see what will happen and my approach is ‘less is more’.
