After a terrible experience at school in the 1950s, when hand embroidery was considered an essential skill for girls, one which I was obviously not destined to acquire, I swore I would never touch and needle and thread ever again.

Fast forward to 2012, and while travelling all over Australia, I stumbled across a magazine “Stitch (UK)” and I fell in love with free-form hand embroidery.

With no formal training in art, design or hand embroidery, I now explore design concepts, colour and texture to translate images, shapes, and forms that intrigue me into textile artworks.
