Barrett, Jean

Jean paints using various media but constantly returns to watercolour and ink when depicting the unique structures and buildings of the towns and surrounds of the area in which she lives in Kangaroo Gully, WA. The naive and quirky style she adopts, expresses the fabric and “feel” of the character-filled buildings. She considers her artwork a painted archive, preserving iconic, much loved  heritage buildings and dwellings of the past and present.
