Coufreur, Hilly

Hilly is an artist who works in oils using a palette knife and vibrant colour. She studies the landscape for its lines and patterns, then interprets them through bold mark-making to capture the essence of a scene. Preferring a wet-on-wet approach, she builds rich texture and movement with buttery paint. Inspired by the rural countryside of Western Australia, Hilly depicts glowing summer hues of orange, yellow, and gold, as well as the lush greens that follow seasonal rains. She also enjoys painting animals in her expressive, textured style.
