  My Latvian mother, Polish father and family had spent time in post WW11 German refugee camps. They arrived in Fremantle as "displaced persons”. I completed a Diploma in Art Studies, Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts), Bachelor of Social Work, and studies in Art Therapy, in Perth. The experience of being a first generation Australian, born of post WW11 “displaced persons”, has influenced my art making. It has generally sprung from an inherited sense of loss, as a means of establishing personal identity and sense of place, as well as making universal connections - the transformative power of the creative process.
